Recruitment Tactics

Recruiting for the Derp Side [DRPSD]

Wargaming has rules rules about how a clan can recruit with in game. In addition, the clan has rules about how it wants its Recruitment Officers to find players and turn them into Recruits. To ensure all of the rules are followed Recruitment Officers are asked to use the guidance provided here.

Public Game Recruitment

The Derp Side [DRPSD] does not support in game spanning as it is forbidden by the rules. Any individual accounts do so at the behoove of their own accord and is not a request from the clan DRPSD in any form.

Public recruitment is expected to follow individual contact. This ensures the user is willing to communicate, as a player that uses none of the communication tools provider is not likely provide as useful assistance in skirmishes or clan wars. In order for the clan to provider the best resource income to its members it must ensure that its members are able to communicate the way the field commander requires.

Dynamic Platoon

For this reason it is encouraged to join Dynamic Platoons, and interact with the potential recruit. Request players of the same tier for optimal XP gain and target players that have no clan affiliation (their name has no '[' and ']'). In addition, if you are running an XVM mod you can be selective about stats. Ideally you target players with a good XVM score. A player with very low game count has a higher likely-hood of joining the clan than someone with tens of thousands of games, however the one with many games (even if a not so good XVM) is also a useful clan resource.

Communication Ability

Ideally the potential recruit is using a headset but having someone that at a minimum uses the text terminal quick commands. Use a simple line you can remember during the platoon sometime. You should attempt the recruitment prior to the end of the battle as the potential Recruit may die before you and leave the platoon. The DRPSD is intended to make recruitment easy targeting any type of player. Use our marketing to your advantage. Keep the line in the buffer. Something like,

Do you know the power of the DRPSD? Join us at www.derpside.com

Since you are now in the platoon communication it is not a public channel. This allows you to broadcast websites and even offer gold. The DRPSD recruitment payouts may very, so it is easiest to direct them to either the in game clan site or to the managed site www.derpside.com
Gold allows more interesting talking bits like,

Need gold? Join the DRPSD and learn how to make it @ www.derpside.com

Both of these messages quickly become impersonal even if the platoon was bonding on a personal level. For this reason it is recommended to add something more of a personal touch. ASCII art or emocons can helps with this. For example the last statement we can try and get the message to space properly and add some ASCII art. We are want it to display as the following.

Need gold? Join the DRPSD and learn how to make it
We could use a recruit like you   (~,~)7
www.derpside.com

Now the same message has a personal touch and it is generic to still be able to keep in the buffer and send to anyone that is being communicated with. In addition, if the first line is dropped all gold messaging is removed so it is a solid recruitment message.

We could use a recruit like you   (~,~)7
www.derpside.com

This message however now is missing a large part of the DRPSD marketing. For this reason there are two recomended recruitment lines. One that does advertise gold and one that is pure recruitment.

On Track Is Back

Is On Track Back?

Wargaming has been very inconsistent lately with their On Track events lately. They have even been shifting what days of the week they are starting. On Track event is one of the most common mission sequences that appear. It provides all players with a significant discount on an entire track of tanks from Tier I all the way up to Tier X.

On Track

The events are typically divided at the Tier VIII level offering Tier VII through Tier X differing discounts and experience bonuses than the tanks of the same track Tier I through Tier VII. The On Track event has always led the player to a nice shiny Premium tank. In some cases the tank is of a mediocre quality, but I myself have earned some very useful tanks that are good silver and experience earners, and I use to get gold even.

Gold you say?

In the past, if you had the tank you would get the equivalent in gold. Now you will get the equivalent converted silver which is still a decent end prize (just not nearly as nice as gold). The end event has a total of 250,00 XP that is required to be earned in the whole track. If the player earns that much, they earn the tank, 50% crew, and a garage slot for it. I would ditch the crew.

Crew defines the game, not the tank

A good crew is more important than a good tank. The crew you earn with the On Track reward is worthless. They are not even fully trained for their premium tank which is a worthless training anyways. You can ditch them at no cost and hire a better crew for just a little silver. If you are willing to spend gold you can hire a 100% crew, but why bother it is a premium tank.

Premium Tanks are Grinders

A premium tank can help a player grind a good crew or earn it silver since the ammo (even premium ammo) is so cheap. A crew of the same nationality can swap to any tank, but a crew of the same tank type (TD, Heavy, Light etc.) can switch to the same premium type and not require the tank specialization change and still use its earned Perks and Skills. This means you can take the crew being used in the Tank track grind and use them when fully and effectively when you are also grinding for coin. In addition, you are more effectively grinding your XP on them at that time as well.

What does this have to do with the On Track?

The Grind. Don't confuse the types. Their is the track grind and the need to have a good crew and resources (reserves, silver, gold, clan reserves for bonuses). The track grind is best when matched up with the events. This saves you money and adds in even more crew XP.  If you use the Premium tanks appropriately and grind as much as possible with the events you will have a stronger and larger barracks.

When do they start and why does the day change?

Switching it up allows it to become new again. Taking it away also makes some want it to come back. Sort of one of those "You don't know what you got, till its gone" type of things. One thing is for certain they are not easy. I have found I need to consistently play the track to earn the reward unless I have the Tier VIII and up to make more XP per battle.

Commander's Vision

The Derp Side is a carefully planned out vision. While it is a creation of the commander, the Derp Side in itself is its own entity. It has one purpose, to help the contributing clan members grow so that the DRPSD itself can grow stronger.

There are two important things about skill-set that each clan member can receive from the clan.

Knowledge

Through this network each clan member will learn new tactics and play-styles. In some cases they may learn about new parts of the game and even new games entirely. This forum will grow and be useful for the DRPSD as a connection and resources point. Through it we will grow strong, and with that the clan.

Resources

With resources it is easier to grow. Gold helps us hit the grind more efficient. My recommendation is to use the gold for crew tank specification training. The reason being is most other things can be paid for with either silver (in game currency) or the premium shop (real money). Training a crew for a specified tank can be done for 90% efficiency for a silver cost, but the player must pay in gold for a 100% efficiency.
In my opinion, there is no reason to not use the gold for the 100% efficiency. Always. Your crew is useless without that. Your perks all turn off as well as any skills so it is as if they are drunk and wounded. It is understandable that not everyone feels this way, but if you are not putting money in just be aware of your crew members tank efficiency. Ideally it is always 100% and that is where the fun begins. In order to always have your crew this way, you will have to pay gold.

Tournament Presence

Support the Derp Side in tournaments and earn Gold!

Field Commanders representing the Derp Side in the upcoming tournaments

To register for earning gold submit screen shot of your team and you can earn 100 Gold.
All other team members must be non-Clan members. Ideally you can recruit them after the tournament, but that is not a requirement to earn the gold. No placement in the tournament is necessary either.

Register and build a team using the tournament forums

Gold For Skirmishes

Earn Gold Commanding Skirmishes

In an effort to encourage and teach clan members how to run skirmishes The Derp Side is offering gold for submitted screen shots showing battles in a skirmish. As a Field Commander (the top player in Skirmish) you can submit a screen shot of full Skirmish ready to start. One entry per day and pays 100 Gold to the field commander.
Of course we encourage you to do many more so the clan can grow and you can earn as a recruit, your place in the clan (and gold along with it).

Valid until July 30th

Gold For Resources

Turn ore into GOLD!

Earn Resources by doing skirmishes for the clan. Each interval of 1000 resources will earn you a payout for the next month.
 ==>

Recruitment Payouts have been finalized.

Each player can earn 500 Gold for every 1000 resources they accumulate per month. This bonuses will stay in effect at least through the end of August 2016. The payouts will be rewarded at the beginning of each month for the past month. The payout is rewarded once a dividend of 500 is achieved.
This means if you achieve 450 resources in the first month joining the clan, and then earn 550 resources in the second month you will receive 500 Gold on the first day of the third month. Payouts will be tracked and posted as they are awarded.

In addition to earning as a Recruit, a player may try to earn extra as a Recruitment Officer. As an officer you will receive a multiple of total clan income for the month. In order to receive this bonus the officer must have been an officer for at least one week of the month. The pay out is received on the first day of the month following the calculated month. A Recruitment Officer earns 1000 Gold per 10000 resources earned by the clan.
In order to be an effective Recruitment Officer and earn for the month a player not only needs to encourage players to join the clan but also participate in Skirmishes to help the clan Stronghold. This not only will grow our clan but grow the Stronghold capability increasing the entire clans silver and XP income (even in Random battles). A Skirmish should be played ideally with all clan members but the field commander can use Legionaries (non-clan players) to start one. This is also a good way to recruit. Another way is to play Un-Ranked Team battles and invite non-clan players to join. Then when you see enough clan members online (7) encourage a skirmish over a team or random battle. This way you all earn more gold, and in the coming months we will all earn more silver and XP.

Earn Gold Your DRPSD Efforts

Earn Gold for your Art work!

The Derp Side [DRPSD] needs a branding image. Do you have creativity? Submit your Derp Side branding proposal here or directly to the clan leader. Winner will receive 500 Gold and an opportunity at a monthly stipend for digital marketing support.

Arty Missions are Hard

Mission Complete

These arty campaign missions are a lot harder then the others. At least it is possible to beat them and not even win. This mission requires you to remain unseen and do a fair amount of damage. This is hard especially with an arty that has poor distance.

With that, the gun was just upgraded. The first gun has considerable range but its aim is quite poor.

On Track AMX 50 B (French Med/Heavy track)

Earn more XP by playing On Track Events!

The On Track is back in action with the AMX 50 B

This allows you to pick up the entire research tree of the tank at a significant cheaper amount. Higher tier tanks cost millions and purchasing them while in an On Track event can save you enough to buy your entire next research track! In addition, the crew receives a significant bonus during the two week event. This allows you to quickly build up a barracks from a nation you were not even using quickly.

While the final reward is can no longer turn to gold, you can receive a Premium tank that will convert to silver equivalent if you already have it.
