Is On Track Back?
On Track
The events are typically divided at the Tier VIII level offering Tier VII through Tier X differing discounts and experience bonuses than the tanks of the same track Tier I through Tier VII. The On Track event has always led the player to a nice shiny Premium tank. In some cases the tank is of a mediocre quality, but I myself have earned some very useful tanks that are good silver and experience earners, and I use to get gold even.
Gold you say?
In the past, if you had the tank you would get the equivalent in gold. Now you will get the equivalent converted silver which is still a decent end prize (just not nearly as nice as gold). The end event has a total of 250,00 XP that is required to be earned in the whole track. If the player earns that much, they earn the tank, 50% crew, and a garage slot for it. I would ditch the crew.
Crew defines the game, not the tank
A good crew is more important than a good tank. The crew you earn with the On Track reward is worthless. They are not even fully trained for their premium tank which is a worthless training anyways. You can ditch them at no cost and hire a better crew for just a little silver. If you are willing to spend gold you can hire a 100% crew, but why bother it is a premium tank.
Premium Tanks are Grinders
A premium tank can help a player grind a good crew or earn it silver since the ammo (even premium ammo) is so cheap. A crew of the same nationality can swap to any tank, but a crew of the same tank type (TD, Heavy, Light etc.) can switch to the same premium type and not require the tank specialization change and still use its earned Perks and Skills. This means you can take the crew being used in the Tank track grind and use them when fully and effectively when you are also grinding for coin. In addition, you are more effectively grinding your XP on them at that time as well.
What does this have to do with the On Track?
The Grind. Don't confuse the types. Their is the track grind and the need to have a good crew and resources (reserves, silver, gold, clan reserves for bonuses). The track grind is best when matched up with the events. This saves you money and adds in even more crew XP. If you use the Premium tanks appropriately and grind as much as possible with the events you will have a stronger and larger barracks.
When do they start and why does the day change?
Switching it up allows it to become new again. Taking it away also makes some want it to come back. Sort of one of those "You don't know what you got, till its gone" type of things. One thing is for certain they are not easy. I have found I need to consistently play the track to earn the reward unless I have the Tier VIII and up to make more XP per battle.
